The problem is they have offers before they even enter the portal. Did you not see Coach Des post game remarks about this?

Soon schools will be able to spend $20 million per year on athletes spread out all across the sports they have. It's pay for play.

Will revenue sharing not be considered university funds? Cause that is what is about to happen

The FTC tried to ban them and were overruled in 2024.

This does not mean the issue will go away, the FTC is appealing.

Making athletes university employees will be the death of college sports. Career ending injuries, lawsuits due to “termination” and such is something the billboard lawyers will play both sides of the fence.

That is pay for play, what it is currently isn’t. The ruling of making them sit out being unconstitutional is a different topic. A pro player can no longer be employed by the league but they can never stop them from making money on their NIL. It’s 2 different things. Even with revenue sharing the players will still be able to make money outside of that. That will make sure every player is getting something.

The same b*tch fest RP has become over MBB is about a decade away for football. The Napier Era will be longed for like the Beryl and Bobby Era is today.
Once the lawyers got involved this whole thing went to crap, just like everything else in this country. Most Lawyers(not all) are the scum of this earth over money, greed, control, and power. Lawyers control our legislation, courts, and your every day lives while they get richer!
Don't worry: They will meet their maker one day!
