Good point, that is a fact, and not something I ever disagreed with.

My point is " TV revenue, produced by the athletes" is an extreme oversimplification.

Change out the players and the TV revenue stays the same.

Yes you need to field a team.

Does anybody have any insight in any other players we may be targeting in the portal?

Same with NFL but they get to split $255 million between 53 guys and get lifetime pensions, because they are the product.

Every change will make it harder for the little guy.
The sooner there is a G5 playoff the better, IMO.
    Agree 100%

Owned by billionares who can afford to subsidize the product year after year, not for year to year gain rather to increase the exit value option of franchises.

Universities do not have the luxury any type of exit model.

The billionaires arent losing money, the owners of the worst teams make money. The universities dont need to make money, they can just spend every penny they have, regardless of the budget they spend it. They wouldn't have to subsidize, they share the revenue. Players get a cut of whats produced.

I dont think you should have to sit out a year for a coaching change either.

And that’s where the workman’s comp lawsuits will come from when the institutional pay plan happens. Some little ding injuries will be a large reasoning from some of the 99% that don’t make Sundays.

Can it be called it a "cut" if they are forced to raise the player money from outside sources.

The ncaa brought in over 1.5 BILLION last year and TV revenues are over 4 BILLION, saying they cant afford to pay the players anything at all is pretty weak argument. Thats without ticket sales, concessions , merchandise and donations.

How is a full ride scholarship not compensation? How is it not pay for play? How is it already not name, image likeness. Isn't that why the university is paying for their scholarship?
