I’m looking around. Found this so far.

In 2021, 7% of Division I athletes who entered the transfer portal successfully transferred to another NCAA program. In 2023, about 45% of student-athletes who entered the transfer portal moved to new schools

About 1/3 end up in “limbo” as they call it. NCAA calls it active.

I was looking through 247 recently and realized we've had several scholarship players who appear to have never been picked up after entering portal
