My understanding was always that the school has to sell their ticket allotment to get full payout. Bowl payout is used to pay schools expenses for the game. Anything above that is supposed to be split amongst conference teams. But in all the bowls the belt is tied to, there’s never a profit. Highest payout is 1mil maybe.

Not a fan of sharing with conference even if there was profit. I can see maybe the bowl teams sharing but not the entire conference.

Crazy that you have to share "profits" with schools who are continually not in bowl games with no expenses.

Was probably the 1st there was any profit. can't share what's not there unless you're the US government.
