And this is why I hate answering questions like this, or supporting UL athletics. Unless you're in the ride, or die clique, you have no right to state your opinion, or ask questions about how the team is going to deal with its issues. This one post is going to completely derail this thread & try to make it about "crappy pseudo fans" when this school & its own fan base has been its own worst enemy for decades now.

You don't want any casual fans. You don't want bandwagon jumpers. You don't want anyone without a degree from the fatherland. You don't want outsiders. You don't want dual fans. In fact, you don't want this school, or its fan base to grow at all. Just last week over half the people who commented on this board were either luke warm, or down right hostile about Howard possibly coming here. I wonder how many of y'all would have liked to seen Walker Howard walk on that football field the other day. What a bunch of disingenuous hypocritical whiny babies.

You are not wrong but if you are looking for sensible reasoning you understand that each person has a point of interest and applying individual questions across the board is not reasonable .

One person is interested in this, one person is interested in that another thinks a fan should be this, way or that way, but it isn't reasonable to think it applies across the board.

Lukewarmness when a random poster declares what a player from another school is about to do is a byproduct of history. History of hopes not panning out. Others not going overboard with every hopeful announcment until it produces fruitage is historically pragmatic and not a sign of being hostile to the idea.

That is reasonableness and it is not unfounded, it comes across as luke warmness, but not without reason. And what appeared to be down right hostility was certainly not demonstrated by over half. It isn't reasonable to combine the two into some sort of group think.

Each person comes to a, situation from their own angle and concerns.

    Lets be reasonable.

    ps Bandwagon Fans WELCOME

    Back to the topic.

Often what happens when a whole team gets bulldosed and run over is there was some kind of concentration breaking event.

Something unplanned that affected the whole team or coaching staff.

Can't imagine what that might have been Saturday.

Now that the staff has gone through it and learned from the experience, I don't see it happening again.

Its part of Desormeaux's oJT that some were worried about three and a half years ago.

You are either a part of the problem or part of the solution. Get on board with UL athletics or get the F out.

I don't get any of those lines of thought either.

However there is no collective "you."

Random individuals may have one or more of those thoughts, but they are not endorsed across the board.

Why so many want to insult these kids effort is beyond me.
What game did you watch? We didn't lose because a freshman QB came in. It's crazy how many people are saying this. We would've lost even if Chandler had not gotten hurt! Why do you think he got hurt in the first place????!!!! Saying "it was 7-3 and we were driving with Fields". Dude, it was the first quarter!!! Driving doesnt mean TD's. And field goals werent gonna win the game either. We get just as dominated regardless of QB. O line was a sieve! Constant pressure and couldn't stop them from getting to the QB. Couldn't open a hole for the run game either. We got completely dominated. Period. To even mention Beale as the cause is insane. We would not have won with Fields. We would not have won with Ben either. And frankly it's not surprising that both of them were lost for the season. Theyve both been constantly injury prone their whole career. Theres a laundry list of why we lost the game. I'd put QB play, Beale or Fields, at the bottom of that list.

I watched the same game. If you can’t understand by now how going from senior starter(s) to a true freshman affects the entire offense, and that the offense not producing affects the defense I can’t help you. I didn’t say it was his fault. I’m not blaming him. He is a freshman. He was not ready to run that offense at the level needed to beat a good team. He may be one day.

Since the QB doesn’t matter, I’m assuming you supported Dez running two starters at the same time a few years ago?

The Committee in fact, did not, approve Kyle's Bandwagon Application.

Beale was not the problem. Chandler getting injured was the problem. Cajuns have had a lot of slow starts this season then made adjustments. I wasn’t worried about starting slow or looking bad early. Once chandler went out Marshall completely stopped worrying about getting beat in the pass game. They loaded the box to stop the run.

Marshall moved the LOS on both sides of the ball the entire game. I don’t know if chandler stays healthy and we find success in the passing game would Marshall have backed off some to open up the run game. We will never know.

What I do know is the true freshman having to come in because of the loss of the 6th year senior QB is the biggest reason we lost the game.

    You are being overly dismissive.

Taking longer to to read the field is common with freshmen..

The same offensive line that gives an experienced quarterback plenty of time looks like a seive for an inexperienced freshman QB.

They did need to up their game though. Thats another reason why getting the freshman some time during the season is smart. It shows the OL what they need to do in these situations.

LoL! Please tell me you're trying to say these are the same thing. Running a 2 QB system and saying we would have lost this game regardless of QB shows you have no idea what you're talking about. Surely this isn't your argument.

So, tell us, do you think we win that game if Fields doesn't get hurt? Can't wait for your answer
