Hilarious. the true freshman QB is catching all this grief with how bad this entire team played and coached. Yall lost yall damn mind with this nonsense. Talk about our ____tty line play. Our stupid penalties, our terrible play calling, etc etc etc. We lose this game regardless of who is QB.
Yeah, this isn't on the young QB.
We were looking & playing like we expected to simply show up and claim a trophy.
We had a good season.. Good lord, the sky isn't falling. For basketball yes, but not other sports!! We over achieved. That's a good thing.. oh we got beat by better team.
We need to do something about the trenches. We are so small and soft on both sides of the line. This is a major concern of mine.
We have 0 defense
ooph. Lots of commentary tonight. I'll say this. It was a great season. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, the issue tonight was not losing Fields. I've said this til I'm blue in the face but we are not physical up front on either side of the ball. Our defense is not very good at stopping the interior run and these guys were way more physical than us and they just bullied us all night.
On offense, their DL just created issues for our QB's from the start. We have a heavy OL but they are not really all that physical in the running game and they are not great in pass protection which goes back to last year. I feel bad for Beale. He got thrown into a high pressure game he wasn't ready for. He's a freshman and it was a good learning experience.
I know we want to blame the loss on losing Fields but this was going south before he got hurt. The staff played this too conservative to start which has been common ala the USA game. We have to open up the running game with the pass and we tried to do the opposite when they were ready. We didn't try to establish Carter at ALL early or go deep and it hurt us.
Braylon Braxton threw for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Marshall gained 217 yards on the ground and controlled the football for nearly 34 minutes in earning a 31-3 victory over Louisiana in the 2024 Hercules Tire Sun Belt Conference Football Championship on Saturday at Cajun Field.
"Big" OL has nothing to do with being good. Marshall exposed that painfully.
Beale will be much better knowing and preparing as QB1
Our D wasn't all that terrible......they were not good but they got no help at all from our offense. None. Once we scored 3.... next 3.5 quarters was painful.
