Just looked at Houston. Gant went from 64 tackles to 16.

Zeon had 8 total TDs and 8 interceptions. Didn’t play every game.

UH went 4-8.

I really liked Gant a lot too

He wanted to come to UL this year, but was told he likely wouldn’t much play this season and then compete for a job next year. With only 2 seasons left to play, he accepted Marshall’s offer to compete to play this season and next.

UL was honest with him, and he made a decision that was best for him.

I think it is great that our coaches (along all the sports I follow) are honest with the players. I know that is not the case everywhere.

Who is the biggest threat to leave the Cajuns? I think Carter will be tough to hang on to… I hope loyalty to the team is higher on his priority list than chasing a little extra green… we will pay him I just don’t know how much. Agree at this time focusing $$ on retainage a wise strategy. Then make adjustments year to year as needed. Evidently in Year 3, Coach Des has a good thing going with his coaches and players. We're about to learn how we do on the portal relative to our peers.

From a coaching perspective houston is interesting... in hoops coach sampson wasnt allowed to be in big12 anymore because of suspected violations, so went "down" tonhouston from oklahoma. But then houston now in big 12 and so is sampson again, kind of odd?

How about their other sports do they now have all "big12" level coaches or did the g5 coaches simply move up as well?
