UL was honest with him, and he made a decision that was best for him.
I think it is great that our coaches (along all the sports I follow) are honest with the players. I know that is not the case everywhere.

Who is the biggest threat to leave the Cajuns? I think Carter will be tough to hang on to… I hope loyalty to the team is higher on his priority list than chasing a little extra green… we will pay him I just don’t know how much. I encourage everyone to give a little to Krewe Allons to help… I love how the coaches stated they will use NIL to retain and not to buy… we can’t win the bidding wars that is for sure.

Agree at this time focusing $$ on retainage a wise strategy. Then make adjustments year to year as needed. Evidently in Year 3, Coach Des has a good thing going with his coaches and players. We're about to learn how we do on the portal relative to our peers.

Most so far I've seen in portal is Tulsa (don't we play them next year?)

    Tulsa 23
    UCF 19
    LTURd 18
    Purdue 16

Pretty easy to ID the trend here

From a coaching perspective houston is interesting... in hoops coach sampson wasnt allowed to be in big12 anymore because of suspected violations, so went "down" tonhouston from oklahoma. But then houston now in big 12 and so is sampson again, kind of odd?

How about their other sports do they now have all "big12" level coaches or did the g5 coaches simply move up as well?

Basically suitors have to be careful. It’s not all coaching why those teams were collectively bad.

Transfer portal officially opens today. Hoping the odds are in our favor.

Tulane's QB / Mensah is in the portal.
