Coach Rebowe Retiring

Coach Tim Rebowe announced his retirement over the weekend.

Of all the Ragin Cajuns players and coaches that have come through our athletic program, he'll always be one of my favorites. He started with Bustle and helped bring some sort of respectability to our football program after the absolute embarrassment that was Jerry Baldwin and his circus.

Then with Hud, it was almost like Coach Rebowe was the glue that held those first several Hud teams together and kept them under a roof of discipline. I don't think it was any coincidence that we saw the immediate downturn and tumble after he moved on to Nicholls.

He then rebuilt Nicholls, leading them to four playoff appearances in nine seasons, including getting them into the Second Round in 2018 and 2019. No small feat out there in Thibodaux.

Hope Coach Rebowe enjoys retirement. He's earned it!

love to see him come back to UL as an analyst. I know he won't and is going to retire completely, but man would be nice to have him around the program in some capacity.

You know...when the buzz around the SBC Championship game was Dez being the new Head Coach to replace Napier, I really started thinking at that time we should also try to entice Rebowe to come back as the Assistance HC to serve in a mentoring role. Help Dez out with some of the things that maybe he just didn't have enough experience with.

Appears Dez did a great job learning while in the fire, but just thought Coach Rebowe had a chance to serve a great role there too.
