Brauchle was not a bad recruit, he was the #3 JUCO ranked kicker in the country and an Honorable Mention JUCO All-American. He did not pan out and ended up at USM where he played for them, mostly as a kickoff specialist. Recruiting him was not the problem, the expectation was that he was going to be good, he just did not work out.

Think he just got “the yips” and couldn’t shake it. Part of the craft, look at Justin Tucker right now, going from one of the best ever to prayer time when he enters the game.

Almendares brought his holder Dalen Cambre with him to the ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, because he knows the enormous role Cambre played in making all the field goals he made.

“I do want him to experience that with me because I couldn’t do it without him,” Almendares said of Cambre.
