Interesting point...never thought of it that way, but makes sense!

That's likely because they are not satisfied with the status quo in the SBC while UL appears content to have a home there somehow not realizing that low attendance is mainly due to fan poor conference perception and schedule.

Not satisified with the status quo? coming from a team that consistenly underperforms in this league. They reached out to Pac to see how desperate they were and Pac 12 said not that desperate.

They seek a higher level conference and their Texas presence almost got them in the PAC. Might still get them there before this is over if the PAC pushes to add a central US division. Could be a step up for UL if the right teams are add like Texas State, Tulane, & Memphis. Schools wanting to move to a higher level conference have few options. The PAC could be depending on who it adds.

Anyone can make a call to a conference office and express interest. Arkansas St made a call when the Big 12 exploded and had their names mentioned a few times in the media. Where are they now?

They reached out to the PAC 12 and said "we may not be all that great in sports, but we're in an enormous media market and we have decent facilities for cameras"

In an enormous media market, where they are probably the 4th-5th most cared about team

Define almost sir? They were considered, like any other program that called to express interest. I've read no article outside of the Texas St media circle that stated with any clarity that they were in serious consideration.

I'm not saying anything about TX St being great.. I'm just saying that having their name thrown around in those talks is probably still fresh in ESPN's mind.

I hope to eat crow but I'm resigned to the fact that we'll likely end up in a bowl against Buffalo or something
