How do we get a Cajun Square for Tailgating?

How can we put pressure on the administration to have a square section off for tailgating and events. I always proposed NEZ parking lot by the RV, cut the RV parking in half. Where live competition can take place, vendors, live music, tents and chairs, but it needs to be planned now and not 2 weeks before the first game!!

I feel like where the NEZ is a good central location. We have general parking across from Cajun Field and the eeason ticket holders park on the home side inside Cajun Field. Plus easy access to move stuff in and out.

That way if anyone passing by can see what is going on inside Cajun Field and make them jealous.

Think I heard yesterday that the Cajun village will be expanding. Went for first time as my tailgating crew was going to super light and my daughter loved it

I am hearing rumors of TG1 spots increasing to $5000 per spot/RCAF donation next season. We have been in spot #16 since 1988. There will be more empty space than they will know what to do with the exorbitant price increase. We are planning to have a meeting soon with an RCAF representative to discuss season tickets, tailgate, etc. Any information concerning this is appreciated.

Well we need to really plan this that price is just out pricing the fan! For a person like me who can only attend a couple games a year, i am sure thats the majority who attend games this issue needs to be addressed. I hope this is brought up with RCAF!

I was under the impression that it would go where the Cox (old athletic complex) building is currently. Of course that can't be torn down until the east side construction is done to allow the admins currently housed there to be moved out

The NEZ would be a great place to do this in the meantime for sure. A champions square type area would be a great addition to the tailgating scene and would be great for those that don't have paid spots. It would add to the GameDay atmosphere

This is just my proposal! Why cant we do it? I always thought for football games it is to far where people park. Plus you need access! Specially if we continue these competitions, doesnt take much money to do it on the NEZ parking lot. Why cant we continue these conpetitions like a Sauce Piquante competition , Gumbo etc.

Plus it works because i am sure we do have electricty and water hookups etc

I like the idea of Championship Square in place of the Cox building, but tailgating and pep rallies needs to be front and center and visible from the street (not tucked away in the south end zone.)
