100% agree.
Love it.

Love this Coach!
I dont think anyone has ever doubted Des's character and leadership ability. We saw it 1st hand when he was a player. I think what many of us had our doubts about and I think we saw it early on was his lack of a network of coaches. Not a knock on Des. That just comes with time and experience. We've all been there in our work careers.
I will say that in year 3, we have seen tons of improvement. He is 100% spot on when he gives credit to this Sr class. These kids chose to stay during the hard times. In today's world, that is a special trait.
Lets give these kids a special Sr Day at Cajun Field. Time to finish a job!
I do think it was legitimate to question Des being ready to be a head coach. And, I do believe that his lack of exposure as an assistant at other schools was a disadvantage. But, not because that would somehow limit his ability to know of and recruit assistants. The coaching profession is a rather small one and everybody pretty much at least knows of everybody else, at least indirectly and by reputation. (Think six degrees of separation.) I think the more legitimate problem was his lack of exposure to the way various coaches ran their programs. You can learn something working with a head guy, even if he is not very successful. If nothing else, how NOT to do the job.
