Why are we scheduling so many games with MAC schools. Seems like the MAC and CUSA would be better partners. We should be scheduling AAC, PAC and MWC G5 schools. How are we ever moving to a better conference if we don't play these schools? Seems like the SBC is status quo and happy with that. The SBC is OK, but I don't think our fan base feels that way if attendance is an indicator.
We did play boise at Cajun Field and only got 22k in attendance. And yes i know it was at 11am
I’ve had my fill of MAC schools. I’m fine with like 3 CUSA schools.
I don't know what you expect. This looks much like the schedule of any G5 team. Granted, some will do a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 for a big name school. Maggard has made a business decision that it is not worth it. That is a debatable decision, but there are reasons for and against. I understand people who argue either way. But, with that one exception it is much the same as other comparable schools.
Interested. What do you think the schedule should be?
He refuses to do 2 for 1 games vs P4 schools, unlike our peer schools in the SBC...those schools have it figured out and it must be worth it because the AD's at those schools don't make bad business decisions. The OOC home schedule should be balanced...there is nothing balanced with our future schedules...
Again, scheduling Lamar, Kennesaw zState etc do absolutely nothing to change the reputation and perception of this football program. With this scheduling get used to 13000 fans show up.
Terrible scheduling. Boring and it won't draw any fans for sure.
Let say for sake of argument Maggard has not been good from a football scheduling standpoint. So that’s one important aspect of his position.
Another important aspect is hiring of head coaches. During his tenure, AD Maggard has hired:
Glasco, at a time some were trying to burn down the softball program
Napier
Deggs
Dez to replace a departing Napier
Habetz to replace a departing Glasco
Tommy Badon
Now we’ll see with Badon, Habetz and Dez ultimately, but two of those three were considered home run hires by folks who follow Cajuns softball and T&F. Dez has some of us (myself included) eating crow this season.
Glasco and Napier had success, and Deggs looks to have revitalized the baseball program.
All that brought into discussion, I ain’t aboard the Fire Maggard Train.
