Louisiana's Kenneth Almendares continued to pile up on postseason honors as the 2024 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team, presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, was released on Tuesday.

The historic 2024 season for Louisiana's Kenneth Almendares added another prestigious honor to his resume – Consensus All-American. The senior place-kicker and Lou Groza Award winner became the first Ragin' Cajun to be honored as he was named as one of 27 players nationally on the 2024 Consensus All-America team released by the NCAA on Thursday.

I saw that Kenny Almendares did not get an invite to the NFL combine. Four other kickers were invited.

Former Cajun RB Montrell Johnson received an invite. Kyren Lacy did not receive an invite. I imagine his legal problems had a lot to do with that.

Kenny will land somewhere and get his shot, for sure. I can think of a hand full of kickers outside of the major 4 conferences that are starters. 2 from Georgia Southern (Koo and Bass,) Lutz from Georgia State.
