It's like if we were 6-6 and telling people how we would've killed to be 6-6 when we were winning 3 games a year. Silly. We _____ the bed in nearly every category. We sucked last night. Period. Actually, I had the sense (and could be wrong) that at least some commentators were of the opinion that, because of this loss, the season as a whole was ruined. It is to those people that my comment was made.

Certainly, the game was a disappointment, espeially since, with several teams rated in the bottom part of the Top 25 losing, we had a real chance to be ranked.

I am not speaking to that disappointment, but to those who are jumping off the cliff. Within that context, I do not believe it was/is a weak response.
