After the panic call, this game was a good exercise in not panicking.
The field goals were a sure fire way to win this 60 minute game.
Geaux Cajuns
……lI mentioned about Field’s throw against Houston in the cold Bowl was one of the best in Cajun history….last night going to his left on the TD pass was also remarkable how he took some speed of and floated a great pass where a great catch scored….man we have some skilled players…..and Lance is still one of the best ever to play here…..almost had the pass in the endzone that got knocked away! Damn That was a terrible loss especially the timing for national recognition and how the 2 pointer failed!
Still getting votes in coaches’ poll. https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/foot...f/coaches-poll

Play Respect!!
Better to lose now to South Alabama than to Troy or ULM or the conference championship or the bowl game, NO?
FWIW, I will sum up my feelings:
1) I am very disappointed at the result of the South Alabama game. I was not expecting that.
2) I am very excited and pleased with the way this 2024 football season is going.
3) As far as attendance goes, I don’t care and will not worry about people who do not attend. I prefer to continue showing up and enjoy the games with all like minded fans!
That is all.
Yes, our goals are still in front of us. I agree that a two-loss season would be well within the expectations I had going into the season. However, the team has performed above expectations. This team was getting noticed for winning and had become part of a national CFP conversation. This is where we want to see Louisiana Football, in conversations discussing CFP contenders because with it comes notoriety and it reflects the trajectory of the program to conferences and recruits.
The loss last night took us out of the CFP conversation and in my opinion was avoidable. It shouldn't have taken the coaching staff until halftime to make defensive adjustments. Furthermore, we needed to have a greater sense of urgency in the 2nd half and opened up the playbook on offense. Overall, this loss was disappointing because we have the talent to not only win the conference but to also be part of the national CFP conversation. This loss shut the door on that conversation. I think casual fans and this community don't have a strong tie to the SBC and as a result want to see UL accomplish more. This was an opportunity to do just that, but the history we have of avoidable losses once again made an appearance. Yes, our goal of winning the conference and a bowl game remain in front of us. Some of us are just hungrier for more.
