NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana citizens have been slow or reluctant to fill out Census forms for the important nationwide count going on this year to figure out how many people live in each U.S. town and state. However, don’t blame the citizens of Acadia Parish.
Statewide, about 59 percent of households have responded to the Census. Nationwide, 67 percent of households have filled out their forms. In Acadia Parish, as of Wednesday, 65% of our citizens have returned their forms which is six percent above the state average and only two behind the national average.
