So having Louisiana on our helmet and not across our chest will promote Louisiana more?

The mindset of bringing back USL gear set the university back 20 years. Would love to hear your side on that.

Yes because we are scared to actually use our name! If we are Louisiana lets use it dont be scared of it. I dont see Nebraska, Alabama, Indiana, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, North Carolina Ole Miss rarely if ever use there nickname. They use the name of the University. When has the softball had Louisiana on any part of their uniform I didn't see it last year

I cant even remember a time that I seen Cornhuskers, or Crimson Tide ever on any of there uniforms

LOUISIANA on the jersey. Cajuns or Ragin Cajuns on the helmet, preferably in script rather than block. Louisiana on the helmet is too long and fits perfectly on the jersey. We need to highlight LOUISIANA, BUT we have to connect Cajuns/Ragin Cajuns with LOUISIANA. One without the other doesn't clarify for the public who we are.

Granted we need to focus marketing on the whole Acadiana parishes; however, because we are The University of Louisiana and not the University of Acadiana, we shouldn't define ourselves with the Acadiana logo, nor should our band be called the Pride of Acadiana. It should be the PRIDE OF LOUISIANA. Why further muddle our identity with Acadiana? Louisiana and Cajuns/Ragin Cajuns ONLY.

Lastly, we need a mascot (not to be confused with our Ragin Cajuns moniker). That mascot should be the albino gator. With gators in the on-campus swamp and a football stadium called The Swamp, what better tradition to expand than that? And what better mascot than the one pictured here. Time to bring all of this together in a complete package!

The Acadiana is just an alternate I am not saying we wear that every game we wear it 1 or 2 games a year. The main uniform will always be Ragin Cajuns on the helmet and Louisiana on the jersey

JMO, but Louisiana is too long to put on a helmet, like Vanderbilt. To maintain a consistent identity, keep Louisiana on the jersey and use Cajuns/Ragin Cajuns on the helmet. And for basketball, ALWAYS have Louisiana on the away jersey and Cajuns/Ragin Cajuns on the HOME jerseys, not the way they are currently doing it (at least vs. Houston).

It is all about consistent and effective branding.

The best and most recognizable uniforms are the ones that never change.
UL would be best served to stick with Red script Cajuns helmet, white pants, and Red or white shirt with Louisiana across the chest. STICK with it. No black bull____, no chrome garbage, no alternative crap.

I agree but we are getting off subject, I am only proposing an alternative. Just like these black uniforms its Ragin Cajuns, Cajuns on the uniform/ The main discussion is if you going to use Ragin Cajuns or Cajuns then Louisiana needs to be used also or a logo that represents Louisiana. If we are putting Cajuns on the uniform then we need to put Louisiana or logo somewhere on the uniform just as big.

In all seriousness, I think any of these would be a good Alternate for real! That we would bring out for 1 game a year. Agree to Disagree. I am also not a big fan of black either. I was proposing using a different helmet. The unique of putting Louisiana in script is that only Indiana and maybe Ole Miss does it.

I agree with this. I really like the Acadiana Flag but not on Louisiana uniform.

In my post I already said the pants and helmet were not good so was just trying to insert a little positivity about when pointing out the shoulders on jersey.

Damn forgot one. I dont create all this i like doing it but my main goal in doing this is to actually have an identity. If you wanna know why people outside of Acadiana or outside Lafayette calls us ULL, or Louisiana-Lafayette that is the reason why. One of the strongest identity crisis we have is being known as Louisiana!!

Thankyou CajunVic!! Its like not having a mascot we are missing key components. HoustonCajun has been advocating using the letter L since i been on this board! Turbine has also created many logos that would help us identify us as Louisiana.

If you notice i have proposed something like this if you seen all the post i have done. Which i know you have. Which I advocate we use, which was what i put on the Black helmets with the Cajuns on the pants leg. I know you know. Still my favorite! The logo not uniform

Which i have heard all before, if we put that on the helmets the Cajuns or Ragin Cajuns would not be on the uniform! Well you know what i say to that Indiana doesn't mind, Ole Miss doesn't mind etc.
Personally i dont care what we use. All i know it is needed
