    A lot of that is credit to the offense for almost always winning time of possession.

    But as frustrating as this defense can be, they are a pretty solid group. If they were slightly more fundamentally sound with pursuit angles and tackling they would be a top 20 defense.

    Our defense has also held (except for Tulane) when it has mattered most and offense couldn't quite put the game away. App State comes to recent memory.

    But you're right. Man...the tackling at the point of first contact. It has been consistently poor all season. That's why we're last in the Belt (or were before last week) in sacks and tackles for loss. Maybe it's just a "fly around and make ____ happen" mentality? And maybe that mentality has overall made our defense better than past years?

    I don't know. I'm not a player or a coach. They've come through with turnovers when we really needed them to end a game, but the missed tackles makes you want to pull your hair out.
