I don’t understand how greedy ESPN/powers that be don’t see the obvious money making potential behind a playoff where all conf champs get in. It makes many more of the games they show all season meaningful. 16 teams. All conf champs get in, 7 at large. Fair to all conferences and almost no chance a team with an actual chance to win the title gets left out. AND so many more meaningful games late in the season to show all week.
Tulane has temple, navy, and Memphis left and a potential AAC champ game. Memphis or navy can hopefully upset them. That would almost lock up army in the drivers seat. Boise would need to lose to Oregon state in the season finale or lose in the mwc champ game. Neither likely but one could hope.
Then there’s army. Let’s assume they lose to ND. Then win the rest. I’d think a 1 loss army gets in ahead of us. But they have no quality wins now. They would have to beat navy and unt and win the aac champ game.
Looking at all 4 teams ( Boise, army, Tulane, UL) remaining schedules. I’d say Boise had the highest chance of getting in and the Cajuns second highest.
Army has beaten
Lehigh
FAU
UAB
Rice
ECU
Temple
Tulsa
Air Force
Still have
@UNT
ND @ Yankees stadium
UTSA
Navy
I’d say their 4 toughest games on the schedule remain.
Army is fool’s gold. They will be 9-3 at seasons end.
