It took some late dramatics but Louisiana Soccer closed the 2024 season with a 2-1 win over Marshall on Thursday in Huntington, West Virginia.
Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Cajuns scored twice in the second half including the game-winner off the left foot of Tatum Beck, playing in the final game of her collegiate career.
Better overall record than last year, but still missed the tournament when we made it last year. That's a bummer. Draws are fine, but 8 of them just keeps you afloat. You need the Ws.
So.does rpca still prefer this coach to marlin?
Not really a fair comparison at this point. It's year 2, there was improvement. And, men's basketball moves the athletic needle (in what direction for us, I cannot debate.) Women's soccer does not. Not to say we should settle for mediocrity. Rather, any sort of winning in soccer is an improvement on past performance. Let's see what next year brings with another recruiting class.
I'm bias, too. McBride is a fellow countryman.
