I think he is a good coach but he also had really good people around him and 2 of them are still here. Mike and Tim have been a huge part of building this program. Napier Also benefited From having a really experienced team have an extra year of eligibility. It would have been interesting to see if we played coastal and won the championship how many of those guys would have came back or moved on. I think the unfinished business brought a lot of them back for that extra year.
Its Napiers MO.
Still he didn't trust Desormeaux enough to do the job traditionally assigned to the position. But he then turns around and says he is his choice to do it all.
Can't trust that disconnect
It taking three years to right the ship shows Napier was both wrong and right.
Wrong at the time, but right now.
Winning has nothing to do with being a good OC. You can have the best offense in the country and not win.
We have way too many lapses for me to say he is a good offensive coordinator. The exact same things I was saying about Napier. Does he do something’s well, yes but I do think our offense could be better with the talent we are showing at the skill positions. I also hate settling for FGs after good drives.
We will never agree on this and that’s fine. In the end we are winning and that’s what matters.
We are in the top 35 in just about every offensive category, 7-1 and on the verge of the top 25.
