We are witnessing one of the greatest seasons by any Cajun QB in history. Not just stat wise, but on field decisions and leadership is astounding.

If we ever play a perfect game or a 90% perfect game, watch out. We made lots of mistakes last night but still played well enough to beat a pretty good team who should have been very fired up to beat us. If we clean up the penalties, miss a couple fewer tackles, drop a pass or two less, and finish one of the FG drives with a TD, we would be scary, scary good.
Right now we are better than I thought we would be, for sure. Still wishing we had that toolame game back!
Been on Team Des since 2005. Being 7-1 in this era of CFB is truly outstanding, ecstatic for him and for us.
I have been discussing this new College Football paradigm with several people for several
Months. Like it or not:
1 nil is here to stay (and is going to get “worse” IMO)
2 nil and all that goes with it, will allow some players to switch schools every year for (heck) maybe 6-7 years (based on red shirts, waivers etc).
3 the norm will be FOR ALL TEAMS - and their personnel - to have a 50% ish (or more) turnover EVERY YEAR
-So coaches must learn how to navigate this new mine field or they will NOT succeed.
-This is why Saban retired.
-Like him or not, D Sanders is one of the best at understanding this (and will only get better)
-I hope Des and his staff also see this better than any of us (it appears they do) and leverage this reality every year.
Final thought: we may get a world class player once in a while - but based on our G6 status- we better understand that when we do, we only get that player FOR ONE YEAR (so we better exploit the heck out of that world class player for that year)
Once he finishes that one year, 99% sure he is off to bigger, better, more profitable pastures (lacy, zeon, those players Napier took, etc)
EXCEPTION: BSU’s Jeanty
Read an interview with him and he admitted that he was courted by several big money programs (he didn’t mention any specifics) but said based on his relationship with the current BSU HC ( and “enough” NIL for him at BSU) he decided to stay. Again as I mentioned that is a rare EXCEPTION

I was impressed with the Tx St crowd for a Tuesday and coming off a disappointing loss. They seem to be building some bridges with their students compared to previous trips there.
Too bad it game wasn’t on a Saturday. It would have been a great environment.
