Future non-conference home games at UL:

Rice, McNeese, UAB, Kennesaw State, Tulsa, La Tech, NMSU

Different scheduling philosophies would be my guess.

Oregon State was in a bind, they needed to finish out the schedule for 2025 before the other MWC schools join the new PAC 12, they will be playing washington state twice and my guess is there isnt a whole lot of schools to pick from that had open dates for 2025. App and Sam Houston were two of them and they worked out a home and home vs money game. Right place at right time.

Then was a good time to pounce on a future year while they have unknown unknowns.

A good habit to develop when you want quality opponents is to not to wait till the year before when dates are tight.

On October 4 we have Missouri and on Nov 8 there will be a Sunbelt conference game

But some of you come here and have a blowout objection without even doing one scintilla of research

My post had to do with the hazards of Martin Hall making Lafayette the focus.

It took zero research to know in 1999 and that the Lafayette angle would create confusion for the rest of the country.

There are people out there that think the Lafayette Leopards originate from an R1 institution and vise versa.

ULLafayette is on social media by the school more than ever.

Every time a Louisiana Ragin Cajun athete does community service the press release says UL Lafayette.

The rest of the country thinks Lafayette is a Community Engagement Institution.

I saw the home and away announced with App State yesterday.
This is COMPLETE BS that we cannot get a P4 team here .
If it is Maggard, he needs to be SLIGHTLY more aggressive for crying out loud. When was our last P4, Kansas State??

He can get them here, he just refuses to do a 3 or 2 for one with them. He has said this publicly many of times. His scheduling goal is to put us in the best position possible to get into the playoffs and play home games with similar regional G5s like the LaTechs, Rices and UABS.

If we had Oregon state at home it still wouldn’t be a p5-p4 game. They’re a g6.

To be fair, 10-20 years ago they scheduled appropriately for the BCS era.

CFB era has us scheduling like this, but at a cost of missing out on exciting OOC home games.
