Louisiana increased its winning streak to a season-best five games with a 5-3 win over Houston Baptist Tuesday evening at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
The Ragin' Cajuns (19-14) scored three times in the third inning to break a 1-1 tie and make a winner out of Taylor Hubbell who allowed just one hit and one run over three innings while getting four strikeouts.
Chad Keefer led UL with two RBI and Kyle Olasin was tops with three base hits. Jordan Poirrier's sacrifice fly in the third inning scored the go-ahead run.
Louisiana returns to Sun Belt Conference play Friday-Sunday, April 16-18 at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock against UALR. Game times are set for 6 p.m., 4 p.m., and 1 p.m.
Tuesday's game marked the first meeting between UL and HBU (13-16) since March 2001. The Cajuns improved to 10-0 all-time in the series.

The squads traded runs early. Keefer picked up an RBI single off the left field wall in the bottom of the first and the Huskies plated an unearned run in the second inning after a misplay at first base with two outs.
Louisiana loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third. Back-to-back sacrifice fly outs - one from Poirrier and Keefer - broke the 1-all tie.
Lance Marvel beat the throw on an infield hit to allow Matt Goulas to score and increase the lead to 4-1.
Randall Bulliard and Blake Wascom held HBU to only two hits over the next four innings to protect Hubbell's lead.
Louisiana loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh inning and Goulas followed with a sacrifice fly to up the Cajuns lead to 5-1.
HBU scratched a pair of runs off of Chase Traffica in the ninth. Singles from Josh Gonzales and Chase Hernandez and a walk issued to Ben Coram loaded the bases with no outs. The Huskies scored on a fielder's choice grounder to second base and two-out RBI single to shallow left field.
The Cajuns ended the game when Marvel got the relay throw to Greg Fontenot who tossed to Kyle Bostick to catch Derek Smith attempting to stretch the single into a double.
