The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team opens its fall exhibition schedule this week at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park taking the field on Wednesday, October 23 and Saturday, October 26.

Play begins on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 6:00 p.m. when the Ragin' Cajuns host Pearl River Community College in their fall ball opener. Louisiana will be back at Lamson Park on Saturday (Oct. 26) at 3:00 p.m. for a split doubleheader against Northwest Florida State College and Pensacola State College.

It's an opportunity for fans to get their first look at the squad assembled and directed by program alum Alyson Habetz in her first year as head coach.

Admission for the contests is $5 cash-only at the gate on the day of the game. All proceeds go directly to support the Softball Centerfield Club. All tickets are General Admission.

The Louisiana Athletics Clear Bag Policy will be in effect; permitted items can be viewed here.

Concessions will be available for purchase (no outside food/drinks allowed).

The 2025 Ragin' Cajuns are led by four-year veterans Laney Credeur, Kayla Falterman and Maddie Hayden looking to leave their lasting imprint on the Ragin' Cajuns legacy. Other key returning players include sure-handed shortstop Cecilia Vasquez who led the team in home runs in conference play last season and All-Sun Belt performer Sam Roe coming off career-highs in average (.320), base hits (58), and RBI (39).

The newcomers are highlighted by the eight additions Habetz and her staff made this summer that includes veteran pitchers Sage Hoover and Tyra Clary plus postseason experience in McNeese transfers Erin Ardoin and Brooke Otto. UL also welcomed a group of six first-time freshmen headlined by infielder Emily Smith who ranked Top 15 nationally among the high school ranks in home runs and RBI last spring.

    ABOUT LOUISIANA
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball program's rich tradition includes six Women's College World Series appearances, eight NCAA Super Regional berths and 33 NCAA Regional appearances which ranks as seventh-most in NCAA history.

Louisiana (45-19, 22-2 SBC in 2024), the five-time reigning Sun Belt Conference regular season champions, made its 25th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance last spring which was highlighted by a national seed (No. 13) and host site at Lamson Park.

The Ragin' Cajuns are currently preparing for the 2025 season which marks the first under Alyson Habetz's guidance. A celebrated Ragin' Cajuns student-athlete and renowned softball coach, she was named the fifth head coach in Louisiana Softball's storied history on June 25, 2024.

A native of nearby Crowley, Louisiana, Habetz ascends to the head coach ranks in her hometown area of the Acadiana region. A basketball and softball player for the Ragin' Cajuns from 1990-95, she returns to where her impactful contributions to women's athletics began.

Seven players from the last Glasco team chose to remain here to continue to play as a Ragin Cajun. They are: Laney Credeur, Maddie Hayden, Kayla Falterman, Cecelia Vasquez, Sam Roe, Sam Ryan, and Lexie Delbrey. They deserve a Break Out Crowd to Thank them for remaining here.

The names of two other remaining players were omitted. Add Gabby Stutes and Lilly Soto to the seven, making it nine returning this year. Stutes and Soto were red shirted during Glasco's final year.
