BATON ROUGE – Abbeville State Rep. Jonathan Perry filed a bill to keep Louisiana on Daylight Savings Time year round.
Perry says constituents came to him, asking why we keep “messing with” changing the clocks for just 4 months out of the year.
Perry says he’s been researching Standard time versus Daylight Savings time, and found out it was originally a governmental cost-saving measure.
He says the current economy is ripe for utilizing the benefits of later daylight hours all year long.
