Southern Miss fired football coach Will Hall on Sunday, the team announced. General manager Reed Stringer will serve as the interim coach. The Golden Eagles are 1-6.

this fire wasn't a if it was a when fire, we all knew he was gone at the end of the season, but with the student section chanting fire will hall all of the first quarter and then the stadium empty in the second half even though it was homecoming I guess it pushed the boosters over the edge to open their wallets a little wider than if they had waited till the end of the season

I remember when no fans showing up got a coach fired. Those days seem so long ago.

I haven't spoken to anyone who was at the game this weekend (I will sometimes this week) but at least at our game even though the fans were thin and the top level of the student side was empty for our game, the box seats were full), not sure how it looked this week since the little I saw didn't show any real fan views and it was their homecoming game.

well the buyout was less than a million dollars so that wasn't as much as I expected it to be and the decision was a post game decision from what ive heard
