    Dude you are killing me.

Rankings as per CBS Sportsline FBS 134. All of these rankings are of an un-official system. There will be variances between today, tommorrow and any other ranking systems. The records however are set in stone and so is next weekends opponent.

    17 Boise State (5-1)
    32 UNLV (6-1)

    21 Army (7-0)
    NR Air Force

    NR Notre Dame
    25 Navy (6-0)

    37 Liberty (5-0)
    134 Kennesaw

    43 Tulane (5-2)
    NR North Texas

    NR Southern Miss
    47 JMU (5-2)

    Charlotte
    48 Memphis (6-1)

    56 Sam Houston (5-2)
    NR FIU

    57 Louisiana (6-1)
    67 TXST (4-3)

There are some very good G5 programs ahead of us. Consider this though, Alabama now has a conference record the same as Florida.

Anything can happen. We definitely have season left.

    Thank you for your wisdom.

Plenty of things to improve upon, but I think this was a game that most Cajun fans looked at and said “please just win.” Mission accomplished and to put it away in backbreaking fashion was too damn good.

I’m sure with a lot of good, the staff will have several negative things on film to review with the guys. Few I noticed: missed tackles galore (again), dropped passes, procedure penalties, and a really bad after the play personal foul. Interesting thing with the drops was I think we had 4 and all different targets. Ben has trust in a lot of guys, and hopefully the guys can reward him for that going forward. Needs to keep slinging it all over the field. The drive with the late personal foul call was really our most disappointing on defense. Gutted on the ground and just didn’t show composure. Bayliss nearly picked up a penalty and then next play we throw a guy down way late. Another small gripe but please no to the gun celebrations. You can say, “oh that’s soft” or “let them celebrate a big play” but the fact remains we are flipping a coin on getting a penalty doing that. Easy teaching moment for Des and his coaches. No giving away big plays for something stupid.

There were a couple mind boggling series playcalling wise, but I’m seeing definite improvements out of Des himself. For example, much of the negatives I listed above are execution issues. Guys put in a position to succeed and not always doing so. Des’ first two years there were just as many head scratchers out of the coaches than the players. Again, not to say there aren’t any out of the coaching staff now, but if you look at the last 3 weeks, if guys make the plays they were put in position to make, we likely aren’t sweating out victories until the final minutes.
Zepp, if you watched the game, please repsond: how many different receivers did Ben target? Also, even though they were listed as incompletions, how many missed interceptions did the Cajuns have in the 2nd half

When over half the FBS makes bowl games, it’s an expectation for every program, regardless of competition. Doesn’t matter if it’s done in 6 games or 12, the expectation is satisfied.

The program has finally matured into expectations and no longer hoping and praying.

I would be complaining if they didn't announce it.

For fans paying close attention, you have a point.

For of the rest (98%) it's a much needed plug that should never go unsaid.

    ps where's the Championship Banner?

What are you even talking about? The SBC Championship is all that matters in today’s game. The SBC is down and won’t be in contention for the CFP slot this year. It doesn’t mean the goals change.

You are confusing the result, aka bowl eligibility, with the goal.

1st - 10 plays/50 yards/missed FG - two dropped passes (one which cost us a first down inside the red zone and ultimately stalled the drive)
    2nd - 7 plays/98 yards/TD
    3rd - 9 plays/73 yards/TD
4th - 11 plays/47 yards/FG - Tavion Smith dropped what would have been an easy first down inside the 15-20
5th - 5 plays/16 yards/end of half - I didn't love the 3rd and 8 run to take it to half. However, our punter has not been great and our long snapper has been worse. I can see the logic, although like I said don't love it.
6th - 3 plays/1 yard/punt - this was a headscratcher for me. two runs with Dre'lyn and then an incomplete. Yesterday was not Dre'lyn's day at all. Didn't get this one.
7th - 4 plays/27 yards/punt - got off to a great start with a 12 yard Bill carry. Then got behind the sticks on 1st and ended up running on 3rd and long.
    8th - 12 plays/81 yards/TD
9th - 9 plays/55 yards/FG - had a 3rd & 4. We ran 4 routes to the left side of the field and one quick slant on the right. Bill Davis was wide open on the left. Ben never looked to that side. Threw the quick contested quick slant incomplete. That could have been the design and I'm not sure he had time to go through his reads even if it wasn't.
10th - 6 plays/76 yards/TD - Not that the TD was some brilliant design. Pure improvisation. I personally liked the decision to throw on 3rd and 13 and not just run and punt. This drive also included 2 procedure penalties and a drop by Carter that negated a really nice play design on a 2nd & 8.

That's 7-8/10 drives with really solid playcalling. A lack of execution kept us out of the endzone many more times than Michael Desormeaux yesterday. I have to give the guy props. He has made some strides I didn't think he was capable of.
    Awesome recap

The difference between now and the past two years are simple.
    1) QB play is better.
    2) OL is pass blocking better
    3) We have gotten a few more breaks

Overall team talent looks slightly improved on offense and slightly down on defense. I could be wrong but I see several NFL players on offense and none on defense.

If they are 50% achievable we should see 50% of teams touting 7 in a row or better.

Pretty good achievement in my book.

Not the entire game but off the top of my head Ben targets: Davis, Perry, Jensen, Stamey (sp?), Carter, Williams, Smith, Bernard, Broussard, Legendre.

Picks I know KC dropped one in his hands. Cant remember if there were others.
