On to the Chickens. Still having 2021 anger issues to resolve.
It's early but a little trend developing. SBC West 3-0 vs East so far. 11 crossover games to go.
Last point---after rewatching it seemed Des kept pass plays limited. Perhaps to limit blind hits from happening on Ben given his shoulder. Conversely App seemed to adapt to this too. They were loading up the box far too often where Ben would typically RPO play call to pass. The one time he obviously changed call at line resulted in 75 yd TD. Even so, half of Ben's incomplete passes were drops.
Thought Ben did okay. 60% passing. Did have 2 drops.
The int wasn’t terrible. It was big in the moment, but they were trying to seal the game. Just not a great placed ball, but deep enough to where it was effectively a punt.
How nice is it to have a weapon like Lance? That 4th down catch was so huge.
We ran the ball fine. The inability to get a yard on a couple of 3rd and shorts was frustrating.
Defense? Only 1 sack, but a good bit of pressure. What can you any about 4 ints? That was fun to see.
It’s a strange feeling having balls bounce our way. Doinked Fg. A fumble into the end zone and we get it. That helps you get to 5-1.
Landed on it pretty hard last night. Hope he’s okay. This will probably jinx him, but I’m not sure he’s started 6 straight games in his career.
We’ve shown flashes on offense the first 2 Des years, but could not keep a QB on the field. That or they were splitting time and we know how that impacted the team.
They got to 5-1 for a few different reasons, but you better believe having BW taking virtually every snap is a big factor.
The COVID Carolina Champ game was 2020 right? Should be enough guys around from then to put it up Covids Ass
Much clearer now as to why play calling seemed "off/different". Des protected his QB1. Fewer passes with most being within pocket. Very few rollouts.
App seemed to know this....they were 8 in box most of game
