Just a question. What would be considered not “light up front” we brought in mims(310) and have 2 other guys 300 rotating up front. We are a 3-4 defense so our traditional DE positions are outside linebackers. Playing in coverage sometimes. We could play a 4-3 with 4/290+ guys up front to stop the run. I’m guessing this league is mostly spread offenses even when run heavy. So defenses are getting lighter and more athletic. Giving up 160 yards a game on the ground these days in college football is average. The idea is contain the run prevent the big plays over the top. Make teams drive the field. We have the best defense yardage wise in the belt and one of the top scoring defenses in the belt as well. Yes there’s room for improvement. Tackling top of the list. The scheme is good, players are in position. Need to wrap up, quit leaving their damn feet and drive through the ball carrier.
