I don’t think they would let 27k in the gates. With the festival and the other school playing at the same time I think we top out at 23k

Positives: App State is our best conference opponent for name recognition. Perfect kickoff time with a full day of tailgating before.

Downsides: App is not great this year, so it really isn’t a highly anticipated matchup. Poor experiences from prior games are gonna keep some away. After the Tulane game, I spoke to someone who wasn’t gonna give UL football another shot until the stadium renovations were done. Some people probably won’t wander over after festival. LSU game.

I’m hoping we scrape the 20k mark. 20,012 prediction. This week and homecoming are our last real shots at big crowds. The games bracketing Thanksgiving will be sparsely attended, as they always are. Need a couple good crowds for this one and Arkansas State to keep the season average up.

We've pulled more in a time slot battle with the East in the past. 21 seem reasonable with everything going on in Acadiana and maybe some lost fans due to the Tulane experience.

To the university and gameday management: the football team has done its job and created some buzz. You have had 3 weeks to prepare for this and correct prior mistakes. You know the perfect weather forecast and the number of tickets sold so far. Do better.
