I imagine a similar deal for the whole of the G5 would be shopped with some combo of Fox/Apple TV/CBS.
    $2 million down the drain.

Not clear to me if this changes the playoff structure. As long as a G5 team can make the playoffs, it changes very little for us in the short term, other than dropping 1-2 money games off our schedule.

    Let them eat themselves.

Screw them. With a brillo pad-wrapped corncob.

The only thing I could see that would hurt the G5s would be if those greedy PsOS would expand their roster and coaching staff limits.

    ____ 'em. With Lucille.
I want to see more former players like Reggie Bush coming forward for back pay. Also, are not most of these schools tax exempt?

If they’re not playing G5’s in the regular season, you really think G5 gets a seat at the playoff table?

Turbine is dead on the money here.

I've been thinking about this for years from a game theory standpoint. The big schools want everything. And what they are not very bright at realizing, is that that is impossible.

They want to eliminate the rest of us. Then half of their teams will have losing records. And suddenly, the records of our schools will jump up. We will end up with the equivalent of the old AFL & NFL, and eventually there will be a mechanism to declare a champion. It will take a few years, but the two will start to achieve parity.

The big schools are run by bozos.

After 3 weeks there were still 43 unbeaten teams. After 5 weeks it fell to 19 unbeatens. After last week it fell to 12.

That number is unusually low for still being in the first half of the season.

The breakaways usually are selling a plethora of unbeatens past the midway point.

In the future they, won't have much to sell after week three.

They will be down to 35 after week one.

As soon as they find a buyer, what they are currently selling won't exist.

Yup. Today they don’t even attempt to hide it. When the SBC added teams a few years ago, Mr. Mouse may not have picked the teams, but I’m willing to bet the presidents knew who not to pick.

Well not competing with the NFL if they still have university names on their uniforms.

If those players don't want to "play school" and want some setup with private equity investors, then they need to form their own minor league and remove the university names from their uniforms. This is bull____. No school with any integrity should allow their names to be attached to this.
