Any body feeling different about Dez from the pre-season?

No. Beating teams the Cajuns should beat doesn’t move the needle.

One half of decent defense against a horrible team isn’t a pattern yet.

Any body feeling different about Dez from the pre-season?

No, but I am hopeful. My biggest gripe with Des through the first year 2 years of his tenure is that we seem to have a problem getting prepared on a week to week basis. I like what I’ve seen so far this year. Prove it over 12 games.

Cajuns defense gives up 13 points on the road and some of you guys say they suck. WOW.

Not only that, I was worried about a let-down after the WFU win.

And on top of that, USM has had our number for a long time.

We definitely consumed clock better this game.

Wish we would have gotten a first down on our last drive.

The USM fans were nice this year, but it may have been that I was in the middle of a section that was full of cheerleader and dixie darling parents, the band before was good.

That's not unusual. Losers only following winning teams, while only winners stick by a losing team. I've been at LSU in bad years. their fans are suddenly much nicer.

The concessions were horrible just like each time I've been in that stadium.

Maybe, but USM does one thing that I have repeatedly asked our concessionaires to do: they put in 'grocery lines.'

You don't walk up, order, and wait for your order to be prepared. Instead, they have barriers that form a line, and the food just sits on the counter. Grab what you want, head to check-out.

We already do that with beer. Why not with food?

It takes a while for a coach to build his own culture.

I've kept out of a lot of the discussions here, but one thing I've noticed is that unlike some of our past teams, this one doesn't play to the level of the competition. We played strong against the first two, got snake-bit against Tulane (but still kept it close), stuck to our game at WFU, and maybe a small let-down at USM.

If you compare to past years, this team is better at maintaining focus, and intensity.

Which reflect Des's personality. He's building a good foundation

Right? The team is 4-1 and honestly should be 5-0.

Technically, our 5th, and the 3rd on the road. The first one is probably the most important, and the one we sometimes forget.

When we elected to go 1A with the split in 1982, we won at Rice in our first game. At that time, they were in the Southwest Conference.

Look I am not gaslighting anyone who still has it in for Dez. But I’m hoping for 10-2; and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna complain about 8-4.

WF is horrible, regardless of level of association. If UL had a decent defense, that’s a shut out.

PS And don't forget, we beat #11 Southwestern, and #18 Randolph field during WWII.
