Don't look now, but 3-9 last season, their first in FBS and CUSA.

5-1 so far this season, with its only loss being to UCF. The wins are:

Rice 34-14
Hawaii 31-13
New Mexico State 31-11
Texas State 40-39
UTEP 41-21

They seem to have adjusted pretty quickly. I knew App State and JMU would be good their first season or two in FBS. Guess I didn't see GA Southern being able to do what they did out the gate. But I sure thought SHSU would have spent more than just their first season at anywhere from 2-4 wins.

Yeah, saw they beat Texas State last weekend, but didn't realize they were having that much success.

5-1 is certainly impressive. They are winning games. But they are playing a Liberty type schedule. The 5 teams they beat are not an indication that SHSU is good. Outside of TXST, the 4 other teams they beat are bottom 10 type teams.

Rice: 1-4 (only win vs fcs)
Hawaii 2-2 (beating two fcs teams Delaware State and Northern Iowa)
New Mexico state 1-4 (only win fcs school)
And of course Texas state

SHSU was a very successful fcs team. They’ll do well in cusa.

There 1st ever win in FBS last year was LTURd. Terrible start but finished last year 3-0.....so 8-1 in last 9 games.
