I think closer than expected early, Cajuns pull away in the end Cajuns 41-24

No clue how to feel about this one. If we were playing the same group of guys with Anywhere State across their chest instead of Southern Miss, I’d be very confident in the outcome. We’ve played USM twice under Des. Once on an emotional high, 2022 after getting a big midweek week over Marshall on the road and then handling stAte at home. Once on a low, 2023 we whoop South Al on the road. We think we are invincible, go to Jonesboro, get dragged, and lose our QB for the season. This year we are back to the high. Hoping Des has that beat out of the guys though and this thing is all business. USM has not been close in an FBS game this year. They’ve also been getting killed in turnover margin. Des has got to have his guys ready for a team who is better than their results would suggest.

We learn a lot from this game about the direction of Des’ program. Gonna break my golden rule and be glass half full. Late TD makes it look closer than it was. 44-24 Cajuns.

Listening to their fans and a guy that covers them, their O and D line is not great. They can't run the ball and can't stop the run. Great new for the Cajuns.

They can throw for the big play now and again, and we've done a good just stopping the big play.

They have also been very bad picking up 3rd downs, which has been our struggle to stop. So, a wash there?

I think the line is a bit low and we win by 17+. 40-23ish.

The last 2 seasons, USM has been bad, but they had a star in Frank Gore. He could single handedly win them games and often did. Good thing is he's gone, and they have nowhere near a replacement.

I still have nightmares about Jonesboro after South Al. That was a rough one.

I know people that follow USM closely and some of them think that they are a 2 or 3 win team this week. Some are sure Hall is gone after the season and some say that the team has quit on the coach already. The other side of the coin is that USM admin always push this game hard and basically give away tickets to get buts in the stands. Lets hope this is a good one with no injuries.

hopefully I'll work my way around to section Q since the tickets that I have are in section B which is where the staff allotment of tickets is.
