Collegiate athletics isn't a big deal outside of the USA. It wouldn't surprise me to see them become less relative here in the states over the next couple of decades.
The PAC 12, PAC 10 or whatever else you want to call them today, they will be slightly rated higher than the SBC. They have no media deal on the table and are making promises off of projection.
The MWC is using the exit fees to leverage their top programs with a larger share of the media money. This will probably mean schools like Texas St will agree to receive less money if the entry fees are waived and it will be just enough to cover the additional travel cost of $1.5M or $2.0M above the SBC, and probably nothing more than that at this time. ESPN is not renegotiating these media deals, and they have all the leverage.
What a weird world we live in when Sun Belt bottom dweller Texas St. has become the prettiest girl at the dance.
Nothing makes sense in college football anymore.
America has developed some pretty salty lenses these days . . . it’s all in what is seen through those lenses . . .
Sources: Texas State’s talks with the Mountain West have stalled. The school has informed the Sun Belt that it won’t be going to the Mountain West. Texas State received a verbal offer over the weekend.

I recall 1 really good year in baseball and 1 in basketball. Handful of decent years____the rest were garbage.
Football has ONE 6 win year in 10 years. If it weren't for ULM, Texas State would easily have been the worst Sun Belt football team in the past decade.
I agree. Texas state is always a good preseason team. Rarely live up to it though.
That loss to shsu is a good example. Cajuns will polish them off in 4 weeks.
