    We're lucky here these cool fronts have pushed the recent hurricanes east. Still you hate to see anyone get slammed.

    I also like to follow the intensity guidance. Some models have it as a Category 5. It looks like it will moderate to a Category 2 prior to landfall though. Still a significant storm.

    I've never seen a storm develop like it did where it did and then just move almost due East initially. It usually moves north before going East

    HH flight just found CAT5 pressures and wind. It will upgrade shortly. Category at landfall really won't matter because the storm surge will have already built underneath it signifigantly.

    Usually, at this time of the year, the fronts have stalled either right over us or just north of us. I can't remember a time when the fronts have stalled all the way into the gulf so early in October. That is causing this storm to act so differently than before.
