I imagine for the crew it's just another day at the office, but I don't know if I'd be up for this flight.

This was the storm surge from Ian at Ft Myers a couple of years ago.

I guess its probably normal but I could not imagine bouncing around that much. Or the feeling when you get out of the hurricane and the ride stabilizes.

Years ago a friend of mine died when her plane disintegrated over the Gulf of Mexico due to storm turbulence, not even a hurricane.

She was coming home from a scuba diving trip.

I know the storm chaser plane is much more structurally sound but thinking about it still freaks me out.

I could not see it in the video(maybe it was NOAAs P3) but I have been aboard a WC-130 used by the AF Hurricane Hunters and they have a couple hundred gallon tank of avgas forward of the meteorological suite. Fly into a hurricane? Check. Carrying a bomb with you? Check. These guys are just wild.

Friends of mine lost everything in Ft. Myers for Ian. They did not build back. Was not worth the cost for a summer home.

Saw a bit on Weather Channel yesterday where they interviewed a lady that lived in St. Pete. Her and husbands home was built and designed by Deltec Homes. They were still planning on evacuating stating they were worried about the storm surge. She felt confident that they would come back to something. Just not sure what. Cant disagree with that statement. Storm surge is very very scary.

Its getting ripped to shreds right now by some pretty gnarly sheering.

    Thank the gods.

This satellite loop is up to 1:00 CDT. The west half of the storm is totally different from the east half of the storm with out a visible eye at the end of the loop. (that I can see)

Now, how could that be when they (illegal immigrants) got more than a hundred percent of the 14 MILLION new jobs that were created these last 4 years?
