ULM dropped the name fight for SBC membership. In Tech’s case, probably help get a ULS med school in Lafayette might garner a vote.

Tuck fech. Let them rot. It’s possible to play every year in football without being in the same conference. We play them every year in everything else.

The Sunbelt messed up pairing an I-20 school with an I-10 school.

The natural travel partner would be two I-10 schools. Louisiana & Texas State.

    Instead they went Texas State/ULM

"Best for UL" not sharing the high school talent pool with an in-state school.

Focus on getting rid of ULM, not making it worse by adding Tech.

How much money would we save, plus added revenue in playing them in conference all sports?

    Bowling Green to
    Huntington - 290 mi
    Atlanta - 310 mi
    Boone - 385 mi
    Statesboro- 530 mi
    Harrisburg - 575 mi
    Conway - 660 mi
    Norfolk - 745 mi

    Jonesboro - 345 mi
    Troy - 400 mi
    Hattiesburg- 485 mi
    Mobile - 510 mi
    Monroe - 535 mi
    Lafayette - 710 mi

    Ruston to
    Monroe - 35 mi
    Lafayette - 180 mi
    Hattiesburg - 240 mi
    Jonesboro - 300 mi
    Mobile - 335 mi
    Troy - 431 mi

Lafayette would be right smack dab in the middle. Probably no more then 300 miles from any western opponent except
    for Ark St.

    Norfolk - 1095 mi
    Harrisburg - 1000 mi
    Conway - 900 mi
    Huntington - 850 mi
    Boone - 820 mi
    Statesboro- 740 mi
    Atlanta - 530 mi

Someone needs to do the cost analysis of adding Tech to the Sunbelt West.

Then at best how much in Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Football the increase in attendance vs. a WKU?

Does WKU increase fans in Baseball, Softball, or Football vs. Tech. No way does WKU makes that needle move except maybe Basketball

Tech and WKU both left and said good riddance to the Sun Belt.

Isn't there someone else out there?

They’re just a landlord. There’s no University of Louisiana at Monroe on the diploma.

If Tech wants into this conference there needs to be a stipulation that they MUST refer to us as Louisiana or UL at all sporting events to include showing it on the scoreboard and state it in all broadcast… failure to comply will result in financial restitution paid to our university…. Also if I was ULM I would force them (tech) to recognize them as such and pay the same financial penalty. It would be one way to stick it to the necksters… MAKE THEM SAY OUR NAME!

That won’t be an issue. It would be the same as Southern Miss.
