BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Liking the recent switch to
daylight-saving time? One lawmaker is proposing that Louisiana
observe it year-round.
Abbeville Rep. Jonathan Perry's bill is scheduled for a hearing
Tuesday in the House Commerce Committee. It would require a
permanent "spring forward," prohibiting the state from reverting
back to standard time on Nov. 7, when most of the rest of the
nation falls back an hour.
Similar proposals have failed in the Louisiana Legislature in
previous years, despite arguments the adjustment could reduce
energy usage.
