Thread: Defense scrambling to solve Wake Forest's unique offense no one's seen before

  1. UL Football Defense scrambling to solve Wake Forest's unique offense no one's seen before

UL coach Michael Desormeaux hasn’t seen it during his days in the college game.

Defensive coordinator Jim Salgado has been coaching for three decades and he's never had to prepare for it either

He may not have realized it at the time or remember it now, but Desormeaux did this (to a degree) with Fenroy.

I have many posts praising Desormeaux for his execution of the fake handoff which was a delayed handoff or pullback.

    Kept the defense off balance.

The defense was scrambling last week too, even though it wasn't unique. Improve tackling might go a long way.

Getting a few SACKS this week wouldn't hurt, either...

Huge issue. Many times we had a guy in position to make a tackle and the rb or wr ran through

Sacks are key to stopping an offense. You have to get pressure on the QB. We don't seem to do this since Des has taken over. This year, we have been terrible.

Exactly, they did not have the "want to". Not an inspired defense at all.

DLine has to live up to their hype and really pressure early on. If we get good push from them, it makes the decision making process for the QB a lot simpler and we can dictate it.
