Same here. Seems pretty logical to me regardless of where you are in the game and I don't care what some say but I don't buy this thing about "chasing points". However, the decision to go for it, IMO, is a lot less controversial than the play that was called. A trick play double reverse from the 2 yard line seems a bit much. If you don't have a better play on your mind to call, then kick the ball.
Wrong Wrong Wrong!!! That early in the game you get your point. You go down 4. Other wise you are always chasing that point. For instance if you are down 4 they kick a fg then you are down a touchdown and extra point instead of the touchdown and 2 point conversion. That proved true Saturday. We needed a td plus 2 point to tie
We can play this all day. We kick the PAT and are down by four. You still need a TD just like if you are down 5. What if everything holds like that through the game? 10 seconds left 4th and 9 from the 30. If we had gotten the two, we kick the FG and go to OT. IF we are down 4, you need an answered prayer.
It does not matter when you go for those points. It's like blaming losing a bball game on missing a last second FT without talking about the ones missed in the 1st half.
Going for two or kicking the PAT doesn't matter one bit, when the defense can't get stops, we give up a pick six, and special teams give up a KO for a touchdown.
