So, a coach promising NIL. Can't do that, right?

They should hold up his credits and transcripts so he cant transfer. Ive seen worse done just for overdue library fines
While this is a UNLV problem, it's going to happen at other universities. This does nothing to motivate people to donate their hard-earned cash to support NIL initiatives.
If you want to help Louisiana retain or get athletes, participate in the NIL collective . . . if not, WHY TRY AND CONVINCE OTHERS TO FAIL Louisiana, the players and coaches like you have . . . it’s not enough for you to just not give, you feel the need to protest loudly and try and make it worse by repeatedly posting the same tired, nagging crap here . . .
This kind of stuff is going to multiply across college football as quickly as players sitting out bowl games did. Hard to imagine a starter of any position, much less a key team leader, would quit his team in middle of the season. And even if we give Sluka the benefit of the doubt he got hosed by the UNLV collective, he's making a short term decision with long term consequences. The NCAA has messed this up so badly with no end in sight.
Watching one of UNLV’s games earlier this season, and seeing his stats through these first three, I don’t he’s going to be able to make a living as an NFL QB. Therefore, he’s got one year left in his cap that he can make money playing ball, then he’s got to move on to the real business world.
So if the NIL promise didn’t come through, I don’t think he’s harming himself of future gain by making this move. However, I also don’t know how much money he’ll be able to command either. His options for next year are probably limited to some G5 program that runs an offense more dependent on a QB being able to run than throw. And none of the option offense service academies are on the table.
