One week left in the Spring signing period that ends on the 19th. What's the word on the recruiting trail? It is important to sign two freshman, a guard and someone with size!!

I know they had a visit for a freshman pg.

I don't know if you want to sign someone with size right now who is a HS Sr, simply because most of the ones who are any good are already signed.

And we will have 4 players in front of them in the rotation.

I agree finding a center type player this late with any skill is a long shot. I am not talking about at 6 10 kid. I am talking about a 6 6 or 6 7 small forward type player.

I think that the interviews that most of the hosts have on ESPN140 are very informative but I think Jay sets the guests up with questions that provide favorable responses. It would nice if the fans and supporters of the programs could call and ask questions. G.R.E.A.T. Scott has a very nice conversation with Gus Kattengail on Fridays but that is just what it is, a conversation between him and Gus. It would be nice if the fans and supporters could have a little more interaction with the guests from time to time. The Sportsnote with Billy Ryckman does an excellent job of providing listeners with this opportunity.

mike You have heard much of what was said. There were a few new comments. I listened to the whole hour trying to soak it in because it was so refreshing.

He is looking to add a new player before Monday when classes start at UL. Cannot mention names until then. It is very important to have extra depth at gaurd position, not just games but to have a good practices when injuries hit.

Kids want to be coached and learn how to improve.

Coach Marlin has talked to every former head coach except Marty and many assistants. Tradition and keeping it alive was one reason he came to UL. He met with Scott F about fan benefits and activities.

He was not surprised about some transition attrition.

He wants to win now. Our Team will be competitive in every game and hustle.

I am already excited about the season. Other fans are welcome to add onto my comments.

In mentioning talking to all those other former coaches he mentioned the tradition of UL basketball that attracted him to the position.

He also mentioned the IPF as being a great benefit due to the Cajundome being a multi-use facility.

In addition to saying the kids want to be coached he mentioned they also want to be disciplined and he and Jay talked about successful coaches who have been disciplinarians.
