Just Win Baby!!!!
I've been working on other stories today, so I'm just now getting back to this.
To answer Mike's question, LSU assistant Keith Richard and Texas Wesleyan head coach Terry Waldrop are definite possibilities as ULM grads. Both came up during my calls today.
Richard played at the school from 1978-82 (was on 1982 NCAA Tournament team that had Marlin as GA). Was a GA there. Another 5 years there as assistant. Then 13 years at Louisiana Tech before going to LSU.
Waldrop grew up in Monroe, was a prep coach in north Louisiana before coaching at Navarro JC in Texas and SE Louisiana. Won the 2005-06 NAIA Division I national title. Was contacted by Carr Sports Associates during UL search.
There are a few other names, too. Personally, I think you need a guy with strong ties to the area who has worked at the school - or one facing similar budget issues - in the past and understands the importance of APR issues.
Expect Staub to move quickly.

They should hire Robert Lee.
A source just told me that ULM "is closing in on Texas Wesleyan head coach Terry Waldrop."
Whatever the hell that means.
