I have a few friends that are DIE HARD gators fans. Like, over the top, fans. I remember one of them telling me, when Napier was being hired, "man, I feel sorry for the guy. . . there isn't a coach in the country gonna succeed here with the cluster@$#! that is Florida athletics." Described it as, worse than Auburn, just more quiet.
His buyout isn't guaranteed:
"If Florida fires Napier, he will be owed approximately $26 million in buyout money. But that number could be mitigated because Florida is currently being investigated by the NCAA for its recruitment – and Napier’s role in the recruitment –of former high school recruit Jaden Rashada."

Here's more about that issue:

Wild card at Florida. Interim president.
Can’t see a new FB hire now, nor can I see an interim president pulling the plug.
Even if Napier finds sudden success, ground and pound Billy ball will not excite their base.
Early on when Florida hired Billy, some on this board stated that he quickly realized what a circus it was and that drove him to raid us. Making the leap from UL to UF was going to be a major challenge and frankly he needed more time to develop as a head coach. Remember those close wins here at UL? You don't get away with some of the decision making we saw here in Florida. The boosters want results, and they wanted them after year one.
26 million to NOT coach football. Wow
