I think it'll ultimately be in both Billy and Florida boosters' best interests to quietly come to an agreement on a buyout in order to avoid exposing all the skeletons stuffed in the closet.

Oh, it will be VERY different. You never know who will be transferring in . . . . .

Wild card at Florida. Interim president.

Can’t see a new FB hire now, nor can I see an interim president pulling the plug.

Even if Napier finds sudden success, ground and pound Billy ball will not excite their base.

Early on when Florida hired Billy, some on this board stated that he quickly realized what a circus it was and that drove him to raid us. Making the leap from UL to UF was going to be a major challenge and frankly he needed more time to develop as a head coach. Remember those close wins here at UL? You don't get away with some of the decision making we saw here in Florida. The boosters want results, and they wanted them after year one.

So, kind of like the ghost of Dr. A, but at a larger scale.

Agree. If Des and the Cajuns have a great year here, then thank goodness he didn't follow Napier to FL or Des' career could be tainted. Hoping for the best. Des has a great year, stays with us, and we continue to build this thing.

For the life of me I’m stunned at how bad his team is doing. I know he had a lot of close games that he could have easily could have lost. He was only coach when he was here when down at halftime or later never worried about losing cause he always made the adjustments to win the game thought he would have carried that with him to Florida.

This is not on Billy as much as some here would love to think. As much as we all hated how he departed, there's far more at play than his coaching ability.

Maybe Coach Dez can bring him back here as an unpaid (since he has a lot of money and free time) consultant.

Maybe Billy can give back to our program to make up for how he left. How does a 5 million dollar NIL donation from Billy sound out of his 26 million pay day for being fired at Florida? Hell he wouldn't be a millionaire if it were not for Dr Maggard and the Cajuns hiring him here???
    Would that heal over things?

Right, its not his fault theyve gotten worse every year hes been there. Also, the coach before him went to 2 or 3 new years day bowls
