The Louisiana women's tennis team opened their season strong, earning 10 wins and reaching three singles draw finals at the Lady Demon Invitational.
Karolina Skowronska had a perfect day, winning both her singles matches and her doubles match. She defeated a pair of players from Northwestern State to advance to the finals of the Yellow Singles Draw while teaming up with Nina Krecklenberg for a win to advance to the Grey Doubles Draw semifinals.
After leading the team in wins last spring, Angelique Berrat picked up where she left off to advance to the Purple Draw finals. She earned wins over ULM and Northwestern State to reach tomorrow's final. Rocio Navarro faced little resistance in the Orange Draw, winning both of her matches in straight sets to advance to the finals.
Jenaila Prulla picked up a win in the Purple Draw to reach the semifinals before falling in three sets while Krecklenberg did the same in the Orange Draw. Ana Martinez Vaquero also earned the first win of her collegiate career in the consolation bracket of the Yellow Draw.
Louisiana returns to action tomorrow with the final day of the Lady Demon Invitational.
